Hi
everyone, we have had another great year of music at PHSOTA, with
more students joining in on the Centra lessons for junior music
time.
It is wonderful to talk with all our young students, and share all
our favourite music and songs. A favourite "rap" song
we have been singing this year has been "Hi, My Name is Joe,
I Work in a Button Factory"..this has been a fun song to sing
and do the actions to. Another song is "Watermelon", and
we all like to sway along to the part that has no words, which is
great fun.
Singing is a wonderful pastime, and it will always make you feel
great after singing a few songs, so keep up all your lovely singing,
especially when you have visitors to your place and you can have
a "mini concert" at home.
Our recorder students for Years 3 to 7 this year have increased
to 18. This is the most recorder students we have had at one time
on PHSOTA. I really enjoy teaching the students recorder and everyone
has really practised well to make their recorder playing sound so
good. Recorder is an instrument which was created a very long time
ago and out of wood. We use the plastic recorders, as they are easier
to keep clean.
The students have prepared some items for the end of the year presentation,
so well done everyone, on keeping up your recorder practice. A musical
note to our year 7's who are departing PHSOTA; Do take your recorder
with you to high school, so that sometimes you can play through
your favourite songs, in between your studies, as this helps you
to relax, clear your mind and take on the next challenge which may
come your way. Music is a wonderful therapy for when you have to
study hard. Best wishes to our students leaving PHSOTA this year,
and may all your dreams come true.
PHSOTA is a wonderful school, and I am so proud to be part of a
wonderful team of teachers who always have lots of smiles to share.
